Pelin Sangu – Paralegal
I graduated from the University of Minnesota, LLM program (Masters of Law) in 2020. I have my law degree from the Baskent University in Ankara, Turkey. During my undergraduate years, I was involved in a number of extracurricular activities. I was the University Representative of ELSA (European Law Students Association) at Baskent University.
In addition, I have been a member of Ankara Ulus Rotaract Club, a global establishment that envisions a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. During my seven years membership, I served as Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President prior to becoming President. I have carried out the presidency between July 2018 and July 2019.
I have worked at a law firm in London in immigration, human rights law, and criminal law. I also practice immigration and human rights law at The Advocates for Human Rights in Minnesota. Immigration law and human rights law is not just a subject to practice for me, it gives me the opportunity to make a positive and long-lasting difference in the lives of people and to play a role in addressing difficult and pressing issues for the benefit of the public at the local, national, or international level. I hope to learn more about American law to diversify my legal knowledge.
